Is there any where to test ride in the Washington DC area? Are there any events held such as festivals and health fairs where people can test ride?

Check out the affiliate section on the StreetStrider home page for one in your area. As a SS user, a test ride IMO will not allow a true evaluation of the machine. Like any exercise, the more you do it the better you become. Many have started using exercise machines, stationary and mobile, only to give up because they don't give themselves the time to get acclimated.
Bottom line, if you want the quickest way to get in shape, with great fun thrown in you can't help but do it due to the method of the SS propulsion, that "test ride" just can't give you the benefits that you will enjoy in time.

If you go to http://www.streetstrider.com/index.ph..., you'll see there are a few Sales Affiliates in your area whom you could call to arrange for a demo ride.
