Try before buying

I live in Seattle and want to try a StreetStrider before I buy. I can travel to Portland, OR and will be moving to Redwood City, CA at the end of the summer. Are there any opportunities to try riding near these places?

Check frequently and often for an ever increasing list of dealers and affiliates. Thus far, I see one in WA state and several in CA...

I am in Albuquerque, NM, so no help to the other states on where find a trial ride. I think posting here is one of your bet bets. The dealer in Albuquerque is listed on the dealer finder page of the StreetStrider website. He has several 8r mobile eliptical machines in stock, and is planning to order some other models as well.

However, my reason for posting now is to pitch in that I believe two trial rides should be recommended.

The StreetStrider is so different from a regular bicycle that the first time you encounter it, it will not seem quite right. I took my first trial ride on a Summit 8r for about 5-10 minutes in the parking lot with the local distributor. It felt very wobbly and I was not entirely sure it would work out. I told the reseller I would think about it.

I was strongly attracted to this machine, so I tried again. Three days later, I went back for a second trial ride and found it much easier. Anyone who knows about muscle memory can attest that at least one good nights sleep will make a big difference when acquiring new skills.

My point here is that "two trial rides" should perhaps be suggested to all new customers. Those who can decide after only one, no sweat. But those who may be more reticent to try new things will find the second trial more comfortable and a better experience by which to judge future satisfaction with the StreetStrider.

I recently became the tallest, if not the biggest, StreetStrider customer. I am seven feet tall and a bit more than 400 pounds. It is that latter statistic that my StreetStrider Summit 8r is going to help me reduce as part of a balanced exercise plan.

So try before you buy, but don't be afraid to try more than once.

  • As with any new HPV or exercise the first impression is not going to give a true indication of where it can take you. It's all based on commitment no matter what the equipment or exercise you choose.

The StreetStrider IMO happens to be one of the best ways to condition your body along with taking you places while having a blast.

The rest is up to you, ask yourself how bad do you want to be the best you can.

    Then prove it.

    Two Trial Runs?

I encountered the StreetStrider one early morning around 3:30am when I arose from my sleep on my couch. The TV was on and I saw Dr. Kraus gliding around on this contraption and I thought I was dreaming!

A few minutes later I realized that it was real and 3 days later I ordered one online.

I didn't need a test ride. I knew I'd like it. And I do Love it. It is so much fun!

I was able to test ride twice and my wife and kids once from Jeremy at Ralph's Vacuum and Sewing in Redwood City, CA (650) 368-2841. If your interested in an XTR 8 and in the San Francisco Bay Area I recommend Jeremy.

Hi Kelsey! I live in Edmonds and own the 8r. Would you like to try it? Let me know.... Sonja. sonesusa@netscape.net

PS: This last weekend, took it to Wenatchee and did 8 miles on the Apple Capital Recreational Loop Trail along the Columbia River, and then went to Chelan and rode it for 6mi's up to Lake Chelan State Park along Lake Chelan.
