  • A typical 6' bike cable lock works well through the rear frame and rear wheel and then around any pole or bike rack works well.

sad I’m Sad, because it's raining out :(
I own a bunch of locks but I live in a good area and most of the time I only lock up my Strider when I can keep my eye on it while inside a store. Only once I locked it up and left it for 20 minutes and that was in Central Park NYC. At that location I used 3 locks.

I have one of those typical cable locks that can be cut with a bolt cutter in 4 seconds but that's what I use just to prevent a local would be idiot punk from grabbing it and trying to take off with it,

If I want to secure for real with some sort of confidence I use the following two locks:

If I am Striding in NYC then I'll add this one as well:

The main problem is weight, These locks can get very heavy. The TiGr lock is cool and only 2LBS but it's really made for a Bike with 2 wheels.

I have one of these that I thought I would bring with me but it's just way too heavy, it weighs in at 16LBS!

So I use it in my Garage to lock up my Striders to the gas pipe that is connected to my gas meter. If someone breaks into my house at least they are not getting my Street Strider!!!!

    sad I’m worried!
just spent an hour on YouTube, OMG, u locks compromised using high speed saws, jacks, freezing then smashing w a hammer, on guard locks being picked, combo locks being compromised n 30 sec, heavy kryptonite chain snapped w bolt cutters, is anything safe?
I like the titanium idea, but if a thief can cut thru a heavy duty u lock w a portable high speed saw, then i suppose the could cut thru the cylinder of that titanium lock????
    • Well my Cylinder is Titanium as well. the guy who makes the TiGr lock lives 35 mins away from me and i went to his shop to pick my up my TiGr Lock and he gave me a Titanium cylinder ;)

If they really want your bike they will be able to get it. I've heard of thieves in NYC driving around in vans and pulling next to a bike with electric grinders and cutting through locks in seconds.

Most bike experts state that you should use at least two different locks. You need to make it difficult for the would be thief to take your bike. The more difficult it looks to then thief then most likely he'll move on to someone else's bike.

That's why in NYC I used 3 locks one time. And all 3 were different. So the cutting method needs to be different as well which takes more time and hopefully they'll not even try.
