Left Side Crank Arm Slipping

I've had my Strider for about three weeks and it appears that I need a new Left Crank arm. The square corners have rounded a bit which causes the left side to "Stutter" when striding. Is this covered by the warranty as a manufacturing defect and can I get a new crank arm from Street Strider? Would it be possible to get it from a local bike shop? What size and type should I be looking for? Is it available in steel instead of Aluminum?

  • Dear Timothy, when the crank arm gets damaged this way it is caused by the arm not being screwed on tight enough and probably not aligned 180 degrees from the right crank when set up, which prevents it from getting screwed on all the way. A little grease on the square bottom bracket spindle will help make sure it is aligned and it gets screwed on tight enough. It really isn't a manufacturing defect as the crank arms are assembled properly and checked for operation before the unit is folded down for packaging. We can send a new crank arm.
