chain guard
What about a chain guard to prevent the rider's trousers from tangling in the sprocket? It needn't be anything greater than a lightweight, plastic shroud that attaches to the frame near the sprocket.

All StreetStriders do come with a chainguard. Take a closer look and you'll see that it covers the chain ring attached to the right crank arm.
They work great and we didn't need to add an inferior piece of plastic to cover the full length of the chain.
